I'm fascinated by studio detritus. For my show Spill, some paintings are on large sheets of heavy watercolor paper primed with gesso both front and back before the painting process begins. The papers are painted while pinned to a wall. As the paint spills across the top edge, a spray of water encourages the paint's downward run.
The wall is protected by sheets of plastic and the floor has cardboard taped to it, but as the building has been sold and will be soon demolished, I've become a careless.
