In August of 1997 two writers, Sandra Sherrod, who was then a gallery artist, and Donna E Perkins started monthly readings at Archway Gallery. These readings continue to this day and have developed quite a following. Donna has continued to facilitate these readings. 

The Archway Readers, a group of Houston area writers, meet monthly at the gallery to share their words with one another are . All genres are welcomed. We do not critique or censor. The only constraint is time. Readers are restricted to 5 minutes. This August we celebrated our 15th anniversary. There is time for about 12 readers each evening. Audience is welcomed!
